Ranger Jim Wood will lead us on a hike to learn about Aspetuck Land Trust’s population of beavers, the original ecosystem engineers. Beavers are most active at dawn and dusk so this hike begins an hour before sunset. The walk will be moderate and last about an hour – an hour and a half. Meet at the entrance to the Paine Open Space. Turn down the road right before 220 Maple Road, Easton. Turn into the main entrance at sign at roadside. Proceed to end of entrance road to trailhead.
